Galway Ladies Football Association Website goes live

Featured: Galway Ladies Gaelic Football

From 1974…..2021

The profile of Ladies Gaelic Football in Ireland is at an all-time high, not least in the football stronghold of Galway.  Ladies football is one of the fastest growing sports in Ireland.

Galway LGFA have recently commissioned SportLoMo to create a brand new mobile and tablet friendly website.  It went live in the last week of February 2021.

Congratulations to Ann Galvin Murray and the Galway LGFA Board Committee and SportLoMo’s Mairead O’Malley and her team on a very impressive website.

Galway Ladies Football Association Website goes live

This is an extensive website, with a huge reservoir of information.  The website has clear navigation and looks well on mobile and tablet.

The site is fully ready for return to play (when Covid restrictions are lifted) with a section on fixtures, results and competitions.

LGFA Hub

The site has a specific area for players, clubs, coaches, referees, county, club development and webinars.  There is a lot of sub-links and information under each of these sections.

Clubs Finder

The website also has the SportLoMo Club finder which is connected to GPRS so players and supporters can find directions to grounds, on their phone, on the way to matches in Galway.  This Club Locator s a popular feature on our customers websites.

News

The News is divided into two sections (via API’s in the back-end) so visitors to the site can choose to view Club News or the County News.

View Club News Here     View County News Here

Social Media

The site receives a direct API feed from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  As the LGFA social media administrator adds a new item to their social media, the item is automatically (in realtime) published to the LGFA website (no work for admin).  This is great for keeping the website update.

Online Shop

A quick way to go directly to O’Neills LGFA Galway Women’s shop is provided on the homepage.

Link to photos and albums in Media section.  Easy for administrators to upload images to the site.

Coaches Resource

Playing Rules Differences, One good coach, Coaching & Medical, Club Player Competencies, LGFA Player Pathway, Coaching Course & Workshops, LGFA & SSC ACL IPP, LGFA Skills Videos, Vetting, Injury Fund, Concussion Guidelines, Playing Rules.

Dubai Celts GAA launch new website

We are happy to announce Dubai Celts GAA new website is now live.

Over the last 22 years, Dubai Celts have evolved into a well recognised global GAA entity, where the GAA All-stars have visited on two separate occasions. For many expats seeking to emigrate to the Arab Gulf, the GAA club has always been the first port of call, for advice and general low down of the territory. It’s great to say that this mentality is alive and well in Dubai & long may it continue.

In total, they’ve welcomed 68 new members to their club across all grades this year, where teams typically train on a Sunday & Tuesday evening & Friday morning in the state of the art facility at Dubai Sports City.

New highly visual designed Dubai Celts website

This year was a very successful year for the Celts. They were recognised by Croke Park as having the youngest committee in the GAA Global Units and consequently selected by Croke Park as the venue to host the 2016 GAA All-Stars to correspond with their theme of “youth & innovation”.  Furthermore, they were selected to host the opening round of the Middle East Leagues as part of the Dubai Duty-Free GAA Irish Festival as a result of the success of last year’s event in Dubai Sports City, in what was a truly memorable night.

Congratulations to Tracey Kennedy, Cork GAA PRO on winning the Cadbury Gaelic Writers Association PRO Award 2014.  A prestigious national award. Tracey is a great endorsement for Sportlomo software. But I don’t envy anyone trying to follow up in 2015 – Tracey will be a tough act to follow.

Congratulations from the SportLoMo team.

Fundraising Idea: Monster Club Draw makes a staggering €15m

A fundraising idea worth considering?

The Cork GAA Clubs Draw commenced in 1992 following the Purchase of Páirc Uí Rinn grounds by the Cork County Board.

It had three main aims:

  • To develop Páirc Uí Rinn as a modern stadium.
  • To provide funds for coaching and youth development throughout the County.
  • To provide Clubs with finance to fund their ongoing developments both on and off the field.

The Draw has been an outstanding success, with the Clubs of the County making over a staggering €15 million euros since the Draw commenced (at no risk to the Clubs as the Cork County Board funds the prizes and admin costs).

The Cork Draw is now run online on SportLoMo.
