Mervue Utd 2 Tralee Dynamo’s 0

Mervue Utd’s under 20 side registered their third home win of the season following Monday nights 2-0 win over Tralee Dynamo’s at Fahys Field. A goal in either half was enough to secure all three points as Mervue dominated the game throughout.

Mervue opened the scoring midway through the first half when Enda Curran finished a left foot shot to the roof of the net following a good delivery from the right wing by Ryan Boyle.

The home side doubled their lead on 68 minutes after Barry McEntee’s ball forward was flicked on by Brian Connolly and Aongus Tierney finished the ball to the net for 2-0.

Mervue should have increased their lead and won more comfortably as James Casserely, Mike Collins, Enda Curran and Mark Ludden all missed good chances. But a win is win and another three points is on the board.

Next up for Brian Laffey’s side is an away game against city rivals Salthill Devon next Monday evening in Drom.
