Floodlit Driving Range.

Containing 20 driving bays, 9 of which are covered, our driving range allows for golf practice all year round. Westport has the capacity to allow up to 30 players to practice at any one time.

The facility has been praised by Junior Golf Ireland as an training outlet. Currently the Connacht girls' panel are using Westport as their regional base.

The introduction of junior clinics for the Autumn and Winter period under the stewardship of Head Professional Alex Mealia is proving an outstanding success with over 90 children attending currently.

Chipping & Putting Greens.

One of the comments made by competitors at championships, here at Westport, over the years has been the proximity of the practice areas to the first tee.

To the left of the driving range there is a double bunkered chipping green with two unique pin positins. Winter practice is no problem as the driving range floodlight facilities are second to none.

Over the years this area has been developed to best simulate the course type and conditions at Westport.

We have an  undulating putting green with 6 holes, which is cut to the same speed as the regulation greens, for the convenience of members and visitors.

Alex & Todd both offer lessons to groups and individuals at competitive rates. These highly trained professionals are available for tuiton. 

Buggy Cars 

Following your warm up or lesson, you can spoil yourself and your playing partner by availing of one of our buggy cars. We have a fleet of 10 for hire which are available all year round, weather permitting.

A high proportion of Westport Golf Club members use their own private buggy cars and a maximum of 15 buggy cars can only be allowed on the course at any one time. 

Therefore, Westport Golf Club insist that as a courtesy, visitors must inform the club of their intention to use their own buggy car at least 24 hours prior to their visit to Carrowholly.

Occasionally, in the event of severe summer weather, buggies are not permitted on the course. 

Buggy Rules (2012 - Season)

PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE MAY NOT RENT OR DRIVE A RIDE ON BUGGY ON WESTPORT GOLF CLUB & GROUNDS.

NORMAL RULES OF THE ROAD APPLY WHEN DRIVING A BUGGY IN THE VICINITY OF THE CLUBHOUSE & ON PATHS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE.

DUE CARE & CONSIDERATION MUST BE AFFORDED TO ALL MEMBERS, STAFF & PUBLIC VISITING OR UTILISING THE FACILITIES OF THE CLUB.

CARE MUST BE TAKEN WHEN DRIVING A BUGGY. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE FAST, PARTICULARLY GOING UP & DOWN SLOPES.

TAKE GREAT CARE IN THE CAR PARK.

A MAXIMUM OF 2 PERSONS & 2 GOLF BAGS ON A BUGGY.

BUGGYS MUST NOT BE DRIVEN CLOSER THAN 10 YARDS FROM THE EDGE OF ANY TEE OR GREEN & MUST NOT BE DRIVEN BETWEEN THE GREEN & THE BUNKER.
