In accordance with Westport Golf Club etiquette, rules and bye-laws, we would kindly ask all visitors and members to obey the following:

• The purchase of golf balls from unauthorised persons, on or in the vicinity of the course, is strictly prohibited.
• Divots must be replaced and pitch marks repaired.
• Players shall avoid causing damage to the course.
• No one shall move, talk or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke.
• Bunkers should always be raked after play.
• Players shall not damage or permit their caddies to damage the putting greens.
• Caddie cars shall not be brought on to the tees or greens or banks surrounding the greens.
• Sit in/on motorised caddie cars shall not be used on the golf course except with the express permission of the Joint Management Committee. Such permission will not be withheld where the applicants have a medical condition which severely impairs their mobility - a certificate from a medical practitioner may in exceptional circumstances be required.

CAN'T AFFORD TO GOLF IN THE CAPITAL?

Take a year or two out from your home club, keep your handicap, play in Open Day events in Dublin and make that saving.

Bye-Laws

• No dogs shall at any time be allowed in the clubhouse, or on the course. Guide dogs for the visually impaired accompanied by their owners are exempt from this Byelaw.
• Proper dress, appropriate for golf, must be worn at all times. The wearing of trousers tucked inside socks is not permitted.
• Track suits, tracksuit trousers, cutaway vests, collarless shirts or jeans are not allowed.
• Neat dress is essential at all times.
• Shorts are permitted but they must be of the tailored type, one colour only.
• Soft Spiked Golf Shoes only must be worn on the course.
• All players must have their own golf bag/clubs. The sharing of a golf bag is strictly prohibited.
• Foul or abusive language or unseemly behaviour on the course, in the clubhouse or its environs, is unacceptable.

Players shall obey at all times the instructions given by the Course Ranger who shall have been previously authorised to act in that capacity by the General Manager either for a specific competition or in respect of all competitions.
