Head Professional, Alex Mealia, the ever constant in his Pro-Shop at Westport Golf Club, looks forward to meeting with the members and visitors to the Championship course at Carrowholly.

Celebrating 20 years as the Professional face of Westport, he was to the fore in bringing the Smurfit Irish P.G.A. Championship to Carrowholly in 2002. 

Always one to keep an eye on trends in the industry, Alex and his team have created a unique Junior Golf coaching strategy which has become an essential corner stone for the future success and developement of Westport Golf Club.

Alex is assisted by Canadian PGA Professional, Todd O'Reilly (087/2265783) who joined the staff in March of 2010. Todd has been a student of the game for 25 years and his passion for golf, helping others and his love of the outdoors has lead him to the profession.

He secured his Class A designation in 2006 and has completed Levels 1-4 of the CPGA Teaching and Coaching Certification Program. Having trained at Capilano and the Banff Springs, two of Canada's finest Clubs, Todd enjoys teaching players of all abilities, especially beginner and junior golfers.

Everyone is unique, in both the way they learn and swing the club and his approach to the individual enables golfers to improve their skills and enjoyment of the game. Todd is a great believer in continuous learning in both golf and life and his philosophy is best summed up by, "Golf is meant to be enjoyed, not struggled with!"

Lessons are also available - (both individual and groups catered for), to help you enjoy your game. With the new Golf Academy now open, all aspects of the game can be made easier with a few lessons.
