Westport Golf Club is located just 5 minutes drive out of Westport town – renowned for its charisma and continental flavour, Westport’s cheerful, multi-coloured shop fronts jostle for attention with an attractive selection of pubs, shops, cafés and restaurants.

Little wonder it has become one of Ireland’s most popular and cosmopolitan holiday destinations. One of the few planned towns in Ireland, it was designed in the 18th Century by James Wyatt, with many outstanding features, most notably the beautiful and unique boulevard known as The Mall, running parallel to the Carrowbeg River.

Westport is a designated heritage town and was recently awarded the prestigious National Tidy Towns title.

The charming Quay area is just a few minutes from the town centre and possesses a unique character of its own with pubs, restaurants and hotels now occupying the old coastguard station and warehouses.

Westport House and Country Estate is one of Ireland’s most recognisable and best tourist attractions while Ireland’s pilgrimage mountain, Croagh Patrick, and sandy blue flag beaches are just a short drive from Westport along the south shores of Clew Bay.

Westport’s proximity to Ireland’s holy mountain, Croagh Patrick, and the shores of the ever-tranquil Clew Bay make it a superb location for those wishing to combine wonderful scenery with the stories and legend of a remarkable history.

The Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick Heritage Centres are excellent sources of information on this history as is the National Museum of Country Life, which is situated just outside the nearby town of Castlebar.
