Celbridge defeated Naas by six points in the first round of the Aldridge cup. This was a fully merited victory although a Conor Mellett goal just before the interval had put Naas two points clear at the break. Celbridge took control of the game in the first ten minutes of the second half . With  1 - 2 without reply they opened up a three point lead which they never lost.

Pauric Carty opened the scoring with an early point. Ronan Joyce equalised for Naas. Then Tom Fitzgerald(Celbridge) and Kevin Curtis(Naas) swapped points. Celbridge edged three points clear  after sixteen minutes with points from  David Hughes  ,Shane Harte and Thomas Fitzgerald. Joey Cocoman and Conor Mellett pointed to put one between them. Then Mellett goaled to put Naas  ahead 1 - 4 to 0 - 5 at half-time.

Celbridge substitute Dylan Corcoran opened the scoring at the start of the second half.Two Fitzgerald points one on either side of a Stephen Corboy goal put Celbridge four points ahead  1  -  8 to 1  -  4. Joey Cocoman pointed for Naas but Celbridge were on top and with 1  -  2 without  reply . Naas finished strongly with three Neil Farragher points.
