NAAS 2  -  7

In a close entertaining game clane just about held on for a narrow one point victory  .Scoring was very close throughout but a 15^th.minute goal by Dave Watson  was responsible for Naas leading by two points at the interval. A second Watson goal and a Dean Mc Holmes mid way through the second half put Naas 2  -  7 to 0  -  9 in front. But a late surge in the last 10 minutes  by Clane in which they scored  a goal and two points  without reply for a one point victory.

A Pat Mc Kenna free  opened the scoring for Clane. A second point by sean Christianson put Clane two points up. However Dean Mc Holmes rerplied with three Naas frees. The Dave Watson goal put Naas 1  -  3 to 0  -  2 after fifteen minutes. Clane reduced the arrears with points from Ethan Donoghue and Tom Cribben. Cribben and Mc Holmes swapped points to leave Naas ahead 1  -  4 to 0  -  5 at the interval.

Clane were quick into their stride with a CVribben point to reduce the arrears to the minimum. Both teams fought hard for control.Naas pressure yielded two Mc Holmes points but Clane replied  with one from Ethan Donoghue and two from Tom Cribben   The teams were now level 1  -  6 to 0  -  9. Naas powered ahead with a Watson goal and a Mc Holmes point to put Naas four ahead. Wowever yhis was their last score. Sean Ryan levelled matters with 1  -  1 and man of the match Tom Cribben won the game for Clane with a fine point. Naas had a late chance to draw level from a long range free but it went narrowly wide.
