The ‘sky blues’ of Longford continued their good form as of late with another convincing victory over Denis Connertons home club Rathcline, when they registered an impressive 2-13 to seven points victory over the Lanesboro side in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 on Saturday.

Emmet Óg 4-12 Carrickedmond 0-9


Emmet Óg recorded a one-sided win over Carrickedmond on Saturday in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 at Moran park with the Killoe lads scoring 4-12 while Carrickedmond only notched nine points.

St. Mary’s 1-13 Ballymahon 0-12

St. Mary’s scored four points victory over Ballymahon at Leo Casey Park in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 on Saturday with the Granard outfit registering 1-13 while the Innysiders could only manage twelve points.

St. Columba’s 0-13 Fr. Manning Gaels 0-8


St. Columab’s picked up the points on Saturday evening at the Monaduff grounds when they recorded a five points victory over Fr. Manning Gaels in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1, the Mullinalaghta men notched 0-13 while Drumlish scored eight points.

In the big game on Friday evening at Paric na nGael, Abbeylara came away with a two points victory in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 over Dromard on a scoreline eleven points to 1-6.

Clonguish recorded a two points victory over Cashel on Friday evening at Pairc Chiaran in a high-scoring encounter in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 on a scoreline of 1-16 to 3-8.

Mostrim 0-8 Sean Connolly’s 1-5

Mostrim and Sean Connolly’s played out an entertaining draw on Wednesday last at Devine Park in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1 with the Edgeworthstown men notching eights points while the Ballinalee boys registered 1-5.

Colmcille 0-15 St. Patrick’s 0-3

Colmcille defeated St. Patrick’s, Ardagh on Saturday evening at Fr. McGee Park by 12 points on a scoreline 0-15 to 0-3 in round 10 of the All County Football League Division 1.With ten rounds of the league played it sees Abbeylara sitting on top of the table on 18 points while Emmet Óg and Longford Slashers are on 16 points apiece while Dromard are fourth on 14 points.

Mostrim scored a two points victory over St. Mary’s Granard on Friday evening at Devine Park on a scoreline of 0-16 to 1-11 in round 9 of the All County Football League Division 1.

Carrickedmond recorded a narrow one-point victory over St. Columba’s on Saturday evening at the Laurel’s in round 9 of the All County Football League Division 1 on a scorleine of 2-7 to 0-12.

Abbeylara recorded a five points (4-6 to 0-13) victory Colmcille in round 9 of the All County Football League Division 1 on Saturday evening at Lynch Park.

The remaining game between St. Patrick’s and Fr. Manning Gaels will be played on Wednesday (9th June) at 8pm at Keenan Park.

Legan Sarsfields also had a narrow one point win over Kenagh at McGann Park on a scoreline of nine points to 1-5 while St. Brigid’s Killashee hammered St. Munis Forgney on a svoreline of 5-14 to 2-3 at Killashee and Grattan Óg had a two points victory over Moydow Harpers on a scorleine of 2-7 to 2-6.

The Townies now sit in fourth place in the league on ten points after the first stage of games; The Granard men sit fourth from the bottom of the league.

The Innysiders recorded 1-9 while the Ardagh men notched 2-5, Ballymahon now sit second from the bottom in the league standings while St. Patrick’s are in seventh place after the first stage of the league.

Sean Connolly’s 1-7 Rathcline 0-9

Sean Connolly’s recorded a narrow one point-victory over Rathcline on the Bank Holiday Monday in round seven of the All County Football League Division 1 at Maguire Park with the Ballinalee boys notching 1-7 while the Lanesboro lads recorded nine points. Connolly’s now sit in tenth place in the league while Rathcline are one below them in eleventh place after the first stage of the league.

Dromard recorded a comprehensive victory over Clonguish on the May Bank Holiday Monday at Allen Park in round seven of the All County Football League Division 1 to put the Arva men top of the league after the first stage of the games while Newtownforbes side sit third from the bottom, final score 3-12 to 0-8.

At McGann Park, Kenagh and St. Brigid's, Killashee finished all square on a scoreline of Keangh 1-8 St. Brgid's 0-11.

On the Bank Holiday Monday St. Munis, Forgney recorded a four points victory over Shroid on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-4, played at the Shroid grounds.

Table-toppers Grattan Óg were suffered their first defeat when they lost to Legan Sarsfields by two points at Flood Park on a scoreline of 1-8 to 1-6.

After the first seven rounds pf the Division 2 League, Grattan Óg are on top of the table while Ballymore sit in second place with Legan Sarsfields in third spot with ten points while Kenagh are in fourth on six points with St. Munis, Moydow Harpers and Shroid are in the bottom three of the league.

Round 2 games in the Longford Leader All County Football League Division 1 were played over the last week; the following is a round up from around the grounds.

Colmcille defeated Longford Slashers at Michael Fay Park on Wednesday with the north Longford side recording a five points victory, 1-9 to 0-7.

On Friday night at Allen Park Clonguish had a three points win over St. Patrick’s, Ardagh on a scoreline of 2-10 to 3-4.

On Saturday last there was five games down for decision with Abbeylara scoring a four pints victory over Rathcline at Pairc Chiaran while Sean Connolly’s had a six points victory over St. Columba’s, Mullinalaghta on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-6 at Maguire Park.

Dromard picked up their first points of the league at Pairc na nGale when they defeated Ballymahon on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-6. Emmet Óg, Killoe recorded their second win when overcoming St. Mary’s, Granard by three points, 1-9 to 1-6, at Lynch Park.

Mostrim and Carrickedmond finished on ten points apiece at Devine Park.

On Sunday at Pairc Chiaran Cashel and Fr. Manning Gaels also finished in a draw on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-13.

Round 3 games of the All County Football League Division 1 will be played on Easter Monday next with a full round down for decision, these games will be played with county panel members.

In the ladbokres.com All County Football League Division 2 played on Saturday last, Legan Sarsfields defeated St. Munis, Forgney 2-12 to 0-7 at Flood Park while Grattn Óg had a 1-11 to 0-7 victory over Ballymore at Ballybrien while Moydow Harpers and St. Brigid’s finished level at Moydow on a scoreline of 1-10 apiece.

The Longford Leader All County Football League Division 1 got underway on Saturday (without county players). At Keenan Park St. Patrick’s registered a norrow one point victory over Sean Connolly’s, ten points to nine.

At Lynch Park Abbeylara had a one-sided win over county champions Clonguish on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-10. Emmet Óg had a four points victory over Dromard at Emmet Park on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-8.

Mostrim defeated Ballymahon at Leo Casey Park by seven points on a scoreline of fourteen points to seven while Longford Slashers scored a comprehensive victory over Fr. Manning Gaels in Monaduff, 3-10 to 0-8. St. Mary’s were defeated by neighbours St. Columba’s in the Laurels, 1-9 to 1-7.

At McGee Park Rathcline beat Colmcille, 2-7 to 0-11 while at Moran Park Carrickedmond had a 4-9 to 1-7 win against Cashel.
