Wicklow remain at the top of Division Four after they registered a one-point victory over Longford at Pearse Park on Sunday in round five of the NFL.

The visitors were behind by four points at the half-time interval however two second half goals from Seanie Furlong and Leighton Glynn ensured that their unbeaten record stays intact.

Longford will be extremely disappointed with the outcome of this encounter and for Glenn Ryan his attention now turns to the Championship.

Wicklow’s Leinghton Glynn produced a master class in point scoring over the course of this entertaining contest and his personal tally of 1-3 alone was worth the admission fee.

His partner, Seanie Furlong also had a fine day at the office with his blistering runs and high fielding terrorising the Longford full-back line.

Ryan’s charges dictated the exchanges in the first half and held a four-point cushion at the turnover.

The Garden County however achieved parity on the restart kicking three points on the trot and two further goals in the latter stages sealed the points for Mick O’Dwyer’s side.
