15th Annual Minor Board Golf Classic a great success

With the Leinster Minor Football Championship Cup proudly on display at the Co. Longford Golf Club, the 15th Annual Longford Minor Board GAA Golf Classic (Sponsored by Brendan Gilmore Security) held on the August Bank Holiday Monday proved once again to be another resounding success.

On the day the first of the over 35 teams left the clubhouse at 8am with the final team not returning until around 6pm.

The day itself proved very enjoyable and gave Longford people and their friends an excellent opportunity to get together for a special sporting and social event.

The proceeds from the Golf Classic go entirely towards the financing of the County Underage Development Programme and it was taken on again this year by the Minor Board Committee.

The Golf Classic this year is the Minor Board’s main source of income to fund our programme.

Longford Minor Board GAA would like to thank all the teams that entered and to everybody who sponsored a hole or a tee or gave in anyway towards the event.

Prizes on the day included Miniature Cavan Crystal Sam Maguire Trophies for winning team, Other attractive Prizes for Top Teams, Prizes also for Mens & Ladies Longest Drive & Nearest The Pin.
