There is a levy for each school of €100 to the IHA

Senior 30 minutes each way

The interval should be no more than 5 minutes.
The duration of a league game can be reduced with the agreement of both teams.

Rules:
The Munster Schools shall be subject to the rules of the Munster Branch of the Irish Hockey association.
The Munster Schools Council shall be made up of a standing committee numbering 4, one of whom shall attend the Management Committee of the MBIHA.
The Schools standing committee shall co opt all other members at the AGM each year.
The AGM of the Munster Schools shall be held where convenient before the Munster AGM each year. 14 days notice will be given in writing by the Hon Sec to the Schools and Officials.
Proposals and nominations for officers and Selectors for the coming season shall be sent to the Hon Sec 3 weeks before the date set for the AGM each year. The consent of the nominee must have been obtained.
The Following Business shall be transacted at the AGM
- Minutes of the previous meeting read and confirmed
- Correspondence
- Reports
- Election of 4 standing members
- Election of Fixture Secretaries
- Election of Selectors
- Consideration of proposed changes in the rules etc
- Any other Business
Players:
Each player must be a Bone Fide member of an affiliated School, attending 2nd level education.
Uniform:
Teams must wear full hockey uniform for all matches.
When colours are similar, the HOME team must change socks and/or top.
Where possible players should wear numbered shirts, particularly for Cup matches.
Gum shields and shin guards should be worn by all players.
No jewellery should be worn while playing hockey.
Registration
At the beginning of each season, each school must nominate 9 players on each team who cannot play on a team below that level.
Names and dates of birth should be provided.
Points may be deducted if illegal players are played.
Match registration forms will be sent out each season.
After each match the winning team should return the forms, signed by both Captains and Umpires to the relevant Fixture or Cup Secretary within 7 days.
Points may be withheld if sheets are late.
All subs should be named together with the team on which they are normally registered.
Players registered on A teams may NOT play or sub on B teams.
Subs can only be taken from LOWER teams.
There is no restriction on the number of times a player may sub up as long it is within the A and B rule. The only exception is when a school has B teams at Junior and Senior level, and students from 1st or 2nd year A teams may sub up to the next highest team.
Where a school has 2 teams in the SAME league they must be treated as 2 distinct teams and players may only play on 1 with the exception of the Goalkeeper.
An outfield player may play goal keeper within her age group on the next LOWEST team to the one she is registered with.
An outfield player may also play goal keeper on the next HIGHEST team within penalty.
Leagues
The Home team to contact the Away team to arrange the match
Teams receive 3 points for a win, 2 points for a score draw, 1 point for a score-less draw,
0 points for a loss.
Teams should try to play the required number of games before Christmas
Games should be completed by the given deadline.
If there is a particular difficulty please contact the relevant League secretary.
Where 2 teams finish at the top of the table on equal points, a play off should take place.
Where Schools have more than ONE team in the same competition, players may only play on ONE team and may NOT sub on the other team.
League Finals: in the event of a draw in league finals, 7.5 minutes extra time will be played. If it remains a draw, a penalty stroke competition shall take place. League finals will be concluded on the day.
All finals must be on full length, marked pitches.
Cups:
The home team should contact the away team to arrange the match. The rain date should also be agreed.
Cup and Plate finals will be concluded on the day.
In the event of a draw, 7.5 minutes of extra time shall be played.
If it remains a draw, a penalty stroke competition shall take place.
Players on a Cup team must have played 1 league game for the School
The first 11 players on a cup team sheet are deemed nominated for that team and CANNOT play down on another team. Players can only be registered on ONE Cup team.
Where Schools have more than one team in the SAME Cup, players may only play on ONE team and may NOT sub or play on the other, with the exception of the Goalie.
Council shall TRY to organize umpires for Cup Finals where possible.
All Senior A Finals will be played on Astroturf at a venue and on a date decided by Council.
Teams must wear numbered shirts for all A Cup games.
Where colours are the same the HOME team must change.
Results must be phoned or emailed to the relevant Cup Secretary.
Cup result sheets must be sent to the relevant Cup Secretary even if the result has been phoned or emailed.
