Carryduff could reflect ruefully on a number of missed opportunities in the opening quarter of this match; With a single point from play in the first minute they went on to puck five wides in the first fifteen minutes with the advantage of a considerable breeze to their backs. St Agnes’ worked hard and Aidan ‘Kipper’ McKinley managed to find the Carryduff net in the 4th minute of play as the Carryduff full-back line seemed all at sea. Chris McKee followed up with two points in the 6th (free) and 17th minutes. For the final ten minutes of the half Carryduff asserted a continued dominance as Conall Early contributed points in the 22nd and 26th minutes and Eóin Conway converted two frees in the 25th and 29th minutes. Carryduff led by a single point at half time on a score-line of 0-06 to 1-02

St Agnes’ dominated the second half playing direct ball with the wind to their backs. They registered four points (one converted free ) within six minutes from the restart and Conrad Kettle’s 7th minute goal suddenly put six between the teams. Carryduff were left chasing the game and three points from Eóin Conway (two frees) was never going to be enough to trouble St Agnes’ who who added another point (46th) and a third goal in the 54th minute to claim a seven point victory.
