The Red High take a step into the unknown when they meet Holy Cross, Strabane in the first of the BT MacLarnon Cup Quarter Final's next week. Strabane are a new entity to Colleges football and this will be the first meeting between the School's at this level. Strabane have shown good form thus far with a draw against Rathmore and a win against St. Pat's, Cavan. This was followed up with a last 16 victory against St. Patrick's, Keady. Strabane will be backboned by a host of West Tyrone and a few Donegal clubs who will present a serious examinations of the Red High's credentials.
The other ties in the round see St. Paul's, Bessbrook take on Carrickmacross, St. Louis', Ballymena up against Castleblayney and Cavan taking on St. Columb's, Derry. All ties are hard to call in the most open MacLarnon Cup for years.
