St Columban's Coaching Clinic a huge success!   18/01/2012

On Saturday past, 82 coaches, with every county in Ulster represented descended to Kilkeel to attend the second St Columbans Coaching Clinic hosted by the PE Department.

Barney Mc Aleenan and Steven Poacher delivered the two outdoor observational sessions on "Effective Tackling" and "Break Ball wins Games." Current Down Manager James Mc Cartan delivered a talk on "Planning a Season" before a very interesting and informative questions and answering session took place.

The feedback from coaches about the day was excellent with Barry Quinn from Castleblaney Monaghan commenting, "This course today has restored my faith in the teaching and presenting at GAA coaching programmes.

The professionalism and structure of the course was excellent." Such was the success of the day; plans are afoot to run another clinic in the first week in March.
