St Andrews and Asca top two in IFC 2010-08-29 21:04:00

Asca and St Andrews finished in pole positions in the IFC groups.

Disappointingly both received walk overs in their final games as MLR and Clonmore conceded.

The Fighting Cocks and Naomh Moling make the QFS as 2nd and 3rd placed teams respectively in Group A - the Cocks got the upperhand on Naomh Moling to finish 2nd, while Naomh Moling actually finished behind Éire Óg on scoring difference but because they won the head to head they go through.

Éire Óg will be cursing themselves for letting a big second half lead slip as they drew with Grange.

St Andrews are the only side in the IFC (and SFC) to finish their league campaign on full points; they are strong favourites at this stage to win this out.

Naomh Eoin in second position easily accounted for Rathvilly while Ballinabranna had a fine win over Leighlinbridge to take the coveted third spot and a quarter final spot.

The quarter finals will pair the teams as follows:

Naomh Eoin v Naomh Moling

Fighting Cocks v Ballinabranna

At the other end, relegation will be fought out between:

Leighlinbridge v Mt Leinster Rangers

Grange v Leighlinbridge
