Mervue Utd 6-2 Maree/Oranmore (Connacht Youth Cup)
Mervue Utd's youth team recorded a comfortable 6-2 win over Maree/Oranmore in the Connacht Youth Cup quarter final played at Fahy's Field on Sunday afternoon.
A hat-trick from Richard Fahy and further goals from Thomas Gleeson, Luke Tully and Moise Assogaba ensured the home side advanced to the last four of the Connacht Youth Cup at Fahy's Field on Sunday afternoon.
The home side got off to a great start after just five minutes as Richard Fahy opened the scoring with his first of the afternoon. Three goals just before the half time interval saw Mervue 4-0 ahead at the break as Thomas Gleeson, Luke Tully and Fahy all scored.
The visitors did pull it back to 4-2 after the re-start but further goals from Moise Assogaba and Richard Fahy, who was completing his hat-trick, ensured Justin Neary and Colin Nolan's side advanced.
In that last four semi-final they will face a home tie against Mayo opposition with either Westport Utd/Manulla or Kiltimagh/Knock.
